I am Dr. Muhammad Shahid Arshad, a dedicated researcher with a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, which I earned in 2016 from the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. My research expertise spans material science and mechanical engineering, with extensive experience in areas such as magnetic materials, coatings, biomaterials, and additive manufacturing.

Over the course of my career, I have successfully contributed to four European Union-funded projects, with two additional projects currently ongoing. Additionally, I have served as a reviewer for more than 40 research articles, ensuring the rigor and quality of scholarly contributions in my field.

Throughout my research journey, I have employed advanced characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, FIB, and AFM to investigate diverse nanostructures, integrating these tools effectively into project outcomes. My publication record underscores the quality and impact of my work, as well as my dedication to advancing scientific knowledge.

Beyond research, I am the Programme Manager for the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Tribology of Surfaces and Interfaces (TRIBOS). In this role, I oversee a wide range of academic, administrative, and mentorship activities to support TRIBOS students. My ability to communicate effectively in English has been instrumental in presenting research findings at international conferences and workshops, showcasing the work of our teams to global audiences.

I am also passionate about decentralized science (DeSci) and its potential to revolutionize traditional publishing models. I am keen to explore how blockchain and cryptocurrency can disrupt the status quo and foster open, accessible scientific collaboration.

Outside of academia, I am an avid sports enthusiast. I regularly participate in marathons and other athletic events, and I have the honor of captaining the Slovenian National Cricket Team. My experiences in sports have taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and achieving shared goals under competitive and challenging conditions.
