As a researcher, Qian Gao has published 40+ SCI/EI journal and conference papers with 1000+ citations and received one best paper award from IEEE APCC. He contributed to EURASIP JWCN as an associated editor and was recognized as a top-10 reviewer for SPIE Optical Engineering. As an Engineer, Qian Gao served as a 3GPP RAN1 delegate, and made certain contributions to 3GPP standardization.
