Oscillators are the backbone of communication system. Usually frequency of oscillations drift with temperature, process etc. In this paper, an inverting Schmitt trigger based Oscillators are designed and simulated, output is observed on Cadence virtuoso tool in gpdk045 library (45nm technology). Performance parameters such as output noise, delay, power are analyzed. Oscillator frequencies are observed at different temperatures. EX-OR gate based Oscillator using inverting Schmitt trigger found to have constant frequency with varying temperature whereas NAND gate based oscillator using Schmitt trigger found to have better noise and power performance.
