In this work, we expand on the XENON1T nuclear recoil searches to study the individual signals of dark matter interactions from operators up to dimension eight in a chiral effective field theory (ChEFT) and a model of inelastic dark matter (iDM). We analyze data from two science runs of the XENON1T detector totaling <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mrow><a:mn>1</a:mn><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mi mathvariant="normal">t</a:mi><a:mo>×</a:mo><a:mi>yr</a:mi></a:mrow></a:math> exposure. For these analyses, we extended the region of interest from <d:math xmlns:d="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><d:mrow><d:mo stretchy="false">[</d:mo><d:mn>4.9</d:mn><d:mo>,</d:mo><d:mn>40.9</d:mn><d:mo stretchy="false">]</d:mo><d:mtext> </d:mtext><d:mtext> </d:mtext><d:msub><d:mrow><d:mi>keV</d:mi></d:mrow><d:mrow><d:mi>NR</d:mi></d:mrow></d:msub></d:mrow></d:math> to <h:math xmlns:h="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><h:mrow><h:mo stretchy="false">[</h:mo><h:mn>4.9</h:mn><h:mo>,</h:mo><h:mn>54.4</h:mn><h:mo stretchy="false">]</h:mo><h:mtext> </h:mtext><h:mtext> </h:mtext><h:msub><h:mrow><h:mi>keV</h:mi></h:mrow><h:mrow><h:mi>NR</h:mi></h:mrow></h:msub></h:mrow></h:math> to enhance our sensitivity for signals that peak at nonzero energies. We show that the data are consistent with the background-only hypothesis, with a small background overfluctuation observed peaking between 20 and <l:math xmlns:l="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><l:mrow><l:mn>50</l:mn><l:mtext> </l:mtext><l:mtext> </l:mtext><l:msub><l:mrow><l:mi>keV</l:mi></l:mrow><l:mrow><l:mi>NR</l:mi></l:mrow></l:msub></l:mrow></l:math>, resulting in a maximum local discovery significance of <n:math xmlns:n="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><n:mrow><n:mn>1.7</n:mn><n:mi>σ</n:mi></n:mrow></n:math> for the <p:math xmlns:p="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><p:mrow><p:mi>Vector</p:mi><p:mo stretchy="false">⊗</p:mo><p:msub><p:mrow><p:mtext>Vector</p:mtext></p:mrow><p:mrow><p:mtext>strange</p:mtext></p:mrow></p:msub></p:mrow></p:math> ChEFT channel for a dark matter particle of <s:math xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><s:mrow><s:mn>70</s:mn><s:mtext> </s:mtext><s:mtext> </s:mtext><s:mi>GeV</s:mi><s:mo>/</s:mo><s:msup><s:mrow><s:mi>c</s:mi></s:mrow><s:mrow><s:mn>2</s:mn></s:mrow></s:msup></s:mrow></s:math> and <u:math xmlns:u="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><u:mn>1.8</u:mn><u:mi>σ</u:mi></u:math> for an iDM particle of <w:math xmlns:w="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><w:mrow><w:mn>50</w:mn><w:mtext> </w:mtext><w:mtext> </w:mtext><w:mi>GeV</w:mi><w:mo>/</w:mo><w:msup><w:mrow><w:mi>c</w:mi></w:mrow><w:mrow><w:mn>2</w:mn></w:mrow></w:msup></w:mrow></w:math> with a mass splitting of <y:math xmlns:y="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><y:mrow><y:mn>100</y:mn><y:mtext> </y:mtext><y:mtext> </y:mtext><y:mi>keV</y:mi><y:mo>/</y:mo><y:msup><y:mrow><y:mi>c</y:mi></y:mrow><y:mrow><y:mn>2</y:mn></y:mrow></y:msup></y:mrow></y:math>. For each model, we report 90% confidence level upper limits. We also report upper limits on three benchmark models of dark matter interaction using ChEFT where we investigate the effect of isospin-breaking interactions. We observe rate-driven cancellations in regions of the isospin-breaking couplings, leading to up to 6 orders of magnitude weaker upper limits with respect to the isospin-conserving case.
