The non-magnetic metal plate thickness parameter is more critical in various engineering fields. However, the accuracy of thickness detection is not easy to control. In this study, a thickness measurement algorithm based on the imaginary slope of inductance is proposed; the most essential feature of this algorithm is its use of slope. This feature makes the detection data more stable and improves the accuracy of thickness detection. The experimental results show that the absolute thickness measurement error of this algorithm can be controlled within 0.09mm when the measuring range is between 1 mm and 5 mm.
