Summary P-wave seismic data are affected by the gas, resulting in poor imaging quality and making it impossible to carry out reservoir description in gas fields. However, S-wave is not affected by gas and can clearly display the structure and reservoir characteristics of gas fields. We used fast S-waves (S1) and slow S-waves (S2) seismic data to carry out reservoir description and geological modeling in gas fields. Firstly, we conducted sedimentary facies analysis using S2 seismic data. On this basis, we further conducted reservoir prediction research and achieved a fine description of the reservoir. Secondly, we used the interpretation results of S1 and S2 seismic date for geological modeling. Finally, we conducted numerical simulation based on gas reservoir geological model, fluid model and production performance analysis to predict the distribution of remaining gas. Through the above research, we clarified the gas enrichment and water invasion rules of the gas field, providing effective support for the development plan of the gas field.
