In this Letter, we report the dark matter search results from the commissioning run (Run0) and the first science run (Run1) of the PandaX-4T experiment. The two datasets were processed with a unified procedure, with the Run1 data treated blindly. The data processing is improved compared to previous work, unifying the low-level signal reconstruction in a wide energy range up to 120 keV. With a total exposure of <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mrow><a:mn>1.54</a:mn><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mtext> </a:mtext><a:mi>tonne</a:mi><a:mo>·</a:mo><a:mi>year</a:mi></a:mrow></a:math>, no significant excess of nuclear recoil events is found. The lowest 90% confidence level exclusion on the spin-independent cross section is <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:mrow><c:mn>1.6</c:mn><c:mo>×</c:mo><c:msup><c:mrow><c:mn>10</c:mn></c:mrow><c:mrow><c:mo>−</c:mo><c:mn>47</c:mn></c:mrow></c:msup><c:mtext> </c:mtext><c:mtext> </c:mtext><c:msup><c:mrow><c:mi>cm</c:mi></c:mrow><c:mrow><c:mn>2</c:mn></c:mrow></c:msup></c:mrow></c:math> at a dark matter mass of <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><e:mn>40</e:mn><e:mtext> </e:mtext><e:mtext> </e:mtext><e:mi>GeV</e:mi><e:mo>/</e:mo><e:msup><e:mi>c</e:mi><e:mn>2</e:mn></e:msup></e:math>. Our results represent the most stringent constraint for a dark matter mass above <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><g:mrow><g:mn>100</g:mn><g:mtext> </g:mtext><g:mtext> </g:mtext><g:mi>GeV</g:mi><g:mo>/</g:mo><g:msup><g:mrow><g:mi>c</g:mi></g:mrow><g:mrow><g:mn>2</g:mn></g:mrow></g:msup></g:mrow></g:math>.
