Is there such a thing as a social structure that constrains individual action, or is society nothing more than a figment of our imaginations?

Society is also a product of the interaction between human beings and the natural environment, and it's an ongoing social construction. Therefore, society can be thought of as both a constraint on individual action and as something that is constructed and sustained by individual and group actions.
