(Abstracted from Neurourol Urodyn 2024:1–10) The involuntary loss of urine due to effort activities such as coughing, sneezing, or athletic exertion, better known as stress urinary incontinence (SUI), is common for adult women, with anywhere from 4% to 35% of the population being affected. Surgical placement of suburethral sling is a highly effective method of treatment, with up to an 89.2% success rate at 3 years.
