For the entangled neutral kaon system we formulate a Bell inequalitysensitive to CP violation in mixing. Via this Bell inequality we obtain a boundon the leptonic CP asymmetry which is violated by experimental data.Furthermore, we connect the Bell inequality with a decoherence approach andfind a lower bound on the decoherence parameter which practically correspondsto Furry's hypothesis.

Nonlinear generalization of the Dirac equation extending the standardparadigm of nonlinear Hamiltonians is discussed. ``Faster-than-lighttelegraphs" are absent for all theories formulated within the new framework. Anew metric for infinite dimensional Lie algebras associated with Lie-Poissondynamics is introduced.

We formulate a qualitative argument, based on Heisenberg's uncertaintyprinciple, to support the claim that when the effects of matter fields areassumed to overshadow the effects of quantum mechanics of spacetime, thediscrete spectrum of black hole radiation, as such as predicted by Bekenstein'sproposal for a discrete black hole area spectrum, reduces to Hawking'sblack-body spectrum.

The generic embedding of the $R+R^2$ higher curvature theory into old-minimalsupergravity leads to models with rich vacuum structure in addition to itswell-known inflationary properties. When the model enjoys an exact R-symmetry,there is an inflationary phase with a single supersymmetric Minkowski vacuum.This appears to be a special case of a more generic set-up, which in principlemay include R-symmetry violating terms which are still of pure supergravityorigin. By including the latter terms, we find new supersymmetry breaking vacuacompatible with single-field inflationary trajectories. We discuss explicitlytwo such models and we illustrate how the inflaton is driven towards thesupersymmetry breaking vacuum after the inflationary phase. In these models thegravitino mass is of the same order as the inflaton mass. Therefore, purehigher curvature supergravity may not only accommodate the proper inflatonfield, but it may also provide the appropriate hidden sector for supersymmetrybreaking after inflation has ended.

We analyze the semileptonic $B\to K_2^*(1430)l^+l^-$ transition in universalextra dimension model. In particular, we present the sensitivity of relatedobservables such as branching ratio, polarization distribution andforward-backward asymmetry to the compactification factor (1/R) of extradimension. The obtained results from extra dimension model show overall aconsiderable deviation from the standard model predictions for small values ofthe compactification factor. This can be considered as an indication forexistence of extra dimensions.

An algebraic restriction of the nonabelian self-dual Chern-Simons-Higgssystems leads to coupled-abelian self-dual models with intricate mass spectra.The vacua are characterized by embeddings of SU(2) into the gauge algebra; andin the broken phases, the gauge and real scalar masses are related to theexponents of the gauge algebra. In this paper we compute the gauge-gauge-Higgscouplings in the broken phases and use this to compute the finiterenormalizations of the Chern-Simons coefficient in the various vacua.

We give a very simple proof that the renormalization of the Chern-Simonscoupling in the Wilsonian effective action is exhausted at one-loop. Our proofcan apply to arbitrary 2+1-dimensional abelian as well as nonabelian gaugetheories without a bare Chern-Simons coupling, including any non-renormalizableinteractions and non-minimal couplings. Our proof reveals that small (but notlarge) gauge invariance is enough to ensure the absence of higher ordercorrections.

General Majorana neutrino mass matrix is complex symmetric and for threegenerations of neutrinos it contains 12 real parameters. We diagonalize thisgeneral neutrino mass matrix and express the three neutrino masses, threemixing angles, one Dirac CP phase and two Majorana phases (removing threeunphysical phases) in terms of the neutrino mass matrix elements. We apply theresults in the context of a neutrino mass matrix derived from a broken cyclicsymmetry invoking type-I seesaw mechanism. Phenomenological study of the abovemass matrix allows enough parameter space to satisfy the neutrino oscillationdata with only 10% breaking of this symmetry. In this model only normal masshierarchy is allowed. In addition, the Dirac CP phase and the Majorana phasesare numerically estimated. $\Sigma m_i$ and $|m_{\nu_{ee}}|$ are alsocalculated.

We study a model with a real scalar Higgs field and a scalar triplet fieldthat allows existence of a topological defect -- a domain wall. The wall breaksthe global $O(3)$ symmetry of the model, which gives rise to non-Abelianorientational degrees of freedom. We found an exact analytic solution thatdescribes a domain wall with a localized configuration of the triplet field onit. This solution enables one to calculate contributions to the action from theorientational and translational degrees of freedom of the triplet field. Wealso study the linear stability of the domain wall with the triplet fieldswitched off. We obtain that degrees of freedom localized on the wall canappear or do not appear depending on the parameters of the model.

We consider finite deformations of the p+2-dimensional Schwarzschild geometrywhich obey the vacuum Einstein equation, preserve the mean curvature andinduced conformal metric on a sphere a distance $\lambda$ from the horizon andare regular on the future horizon. We show perturbatively that in the limit$\lambda$ approaches 0 the deformations are given by solutions of the nonlinearincompressible Navier-Stokes equation on the p-sphere. This relation provides alink between global existence for p-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokesfluids and a novel form of cosmic censorship in p+2-dimensional generalrelativity.
