A new era has begun in which pathogens have become useful scaffolds for nanotechnology applications. An attempt has made to generate the empty cargo like architecture from a high profile plant pathogen of Squash leaf curl China virus (SLCCNV). In this approach, typically self-assembled multiple copies of SLCCNV protein monomers of capsomers are obtained efficiently by using Pichia pastoris expression system. Further, dialysis of expressed SLCCNV-CP against various pH strengthen (5-10) disassembly and assembly buffers produced diverse self-assembled "nano-cargo"-like arhitecture which has also shown the ability to encapsulate the magnetic nanoparticles in solution. Bioinformatics tools are utilized to confer the possible self-assembly kinetics and bioconjugation sites as well. Biocompatibility of "Nano-cargo" particles also evaluated by in vitro cancer cells that eventually set our expressed Nano-cargo as a versatile material towards the next-generation "nanotool" capable of housing various therapeutic or imaging agents.
