The results of searches for new physics in events with two same-sign isolatedleptons, hadronic jets, and missing transverse energy in the final state arepresented. The searches use an integrated luminosity of 35 inverse picobarns ofpp collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV collected by the CMSexperiment at the LHC. The observed numbers of events agree with the standardmodel predictions, and no evidence for new physics is found. To facilitate theinterpretation of our data in a broader range of new physics scenarios,information on our event selection, detector response, and efficiencies isprovided.

The vectorial holographic correspondences between higher-spin theories inAdS$_5$ and free vector models on the boundary are extended to the cases wherethe latter is described by free massless spin-$j$ field. The dual higher-spintheory in the bulk does not include gravity and can only be defined on rigidAdS$_5$ background with $S^4$ boundary. We discuss various properties of theserather special higher-spin theories and calculate their one-loop free energies.We show that the result is proportional to the same quantity for spin-$j$doubleton treated as if it is a AdS$_5$ field. Finally, we consider even morespecial case where the boundary theory itself is given by an infinite tower ofmassless higher-spin fields.

We derive the leading g_s perturbation of the SUGRA fields generated by asupersymmetric configuration of respectively 1, 2 or 4 D3-branes intersectingat an arbitrary angle via the computation of the string theory disk scatteringamplitude of one massless NSNS field interacting with open strings stretchedbetween the branes. The configuration with four branes is expected to berelevant for black hole microstate counting in four dimensions.

We study the contribution of new sets of two-loop Barr-Zee type diagrams tothe anomalous magnetic moment of the muon within the two-Higgs-doublet modelframework. We show that some of these contributions can be quite sizeable for alarge region of the parameter space and can significantly reduce, and in somecases even explain, the discrepancy between the theoretical prediction and theexperimentally measured value of this observable. Analytical expressions aregiven for all the calculations performed in this work.

We consider states of holographic conformal field theories constructed byadding sources for local operators in the Euclidean path integral, with the aimof investigating the extent to which arbitrary bulk coherent states can berepresented by such Euclidean path-integrals in the CFT. We construct theassociated dual Lorentzian spacetimes perturbatively in the sources. Extendingearlier work, we provide explicit formulae for the Lorentzian fields to firstorder in the sources for general scalar field and metric perturbations inarbitrary dimensions. We check the results by holographically computing theLorentzian one-point functions for the sourced operators and comparing with adirect CFT calculation. We present evidence that at the linearized level,arbitrary bulk initial data profiles can be generated by an appropriate choiceof Euclidean sources. However, in order to produce initial data that is verylocalized, the amplitude must be taken small at the same time otherwise therequired sources diverge, invalidating the perturbative approach.

We study the implications of generalized CP transformations acting on themass matrices of charged leptons in a model-independent way. Generalized$e-\mu$, $e-\tau$ and $\mu-\tau$ symmetries are considered in detail. In allcases the physical parameters of the lepton mixing matrix, three mixing anglesand three CP phases can be expressed in terms of a restricted set ofindependent "theory" parameters that characterize a given choice of CPtransformation. This leads to implications for neutrino oscillations as well asneutrinoless double beta decay experiments.

We show that the Mott transition can be realized in a holographic model of afermion with bulk mass, $m$, and a dipole interaction of coupling strength $p$.The phase diagram contains gapless, pseudo-gap and gapped phases and the firstone can be further divided into four sub-classes. We compare the spectraldensities of our holographic model with the Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT)results for Hubbard model as well as the experimental data of Vanadium Oxidematerials. Interestingly, single-site and cluster DMFT results of Hubbard modelshare some similarities with the holographic model of different parameters,although the spectral functions are quite different due to the asymmetry in theholography part. The theory can fit the X-ray absorption spectrum (XAS) dataquite well, but once the theory parameters are fixed with the former it can fitthe photoelectric emission spectrum (PES) data only if we symmetrize thespectral function.
